It’s Christmas at Central. Our train was delayed due to track failure and congestion, but I already knew that would happen with the storms.
Sydney
Hurstville
Setting off for my latest crazy adventure. An overnight train ride to Melbourne, watch a concert, then another overnighter back.
Glad I’m not flying. Too many storms!
Driving it home
Made it home and home to stay. I left the office at one in the afternoon, passed three police cars on the Hume Highway, then suffered my only delay at the exit of the M5 to Fairford Road. I was pretty tired after the ride, but no rest as I had to take Alex to his tennis lessons, have a quick Thai meal with the family then attend an urgently called after school care committee meeting. After 8pm when I returned home hot and sticky. Can’t believe it will be 40 degrees Celsius tomorrow!
At least I proved that I can drive long distances, but B certainly has my utmost respect for all her years of such journeys.
Overlooking the Woronora
We can’t always be travelling. There is work to do and, for kids, school to attend. Fortunately for us the bush is not far away.
From Cairns to Sydney
The journey is almost over, just a bus ride home remains. It was a pleasant Jetstar A320 flight back from Cairns with a cheerful crew. We had $25 meal credit so instead of food we used it to buy a Jetstar 787 model.
We all slept on the flight, which had some lovely views of Sydney on descent. A good end to a long trip.
I’ll write a summation up later. After a shower and a sleep and everything else about coming home.
