The Nemuro Line used to go all the way to, you guessed it, Nemuro! After a typhoon the section between Higashi-Shikagoe and Shintoku was damaged. It’s not certain that it will ever be rebuilt, so this is the end of the line for now, with a bus service joining the broken bit. Heading back now…
Not in such a rush this time, so I bought some apples from the station shop. This city advertises itself as an apple place. Also had some hot strawberry milk from a vending machine. Very relaxing.

Arrived at Rumoi and had great ramen at Ekimae Kaiei next to the station. Deep fried onion flavoured broth, something different (and Micheliny from what I read).
